Subject: [DIGITALCLASSICIST] German Archaeological Institute IT guidelines
To: DIGITALC...@jiscmail.ac.uk

Dear all,

List members may be interested to know that the German Archaeological Institute (DAI) has issued guidelines on minimum standards in the use of IT in archaeological research, with attention to interoperability, preservation and feasibility, among other things. These standards are now binding on all projects wholly or partly funded by the DAI; as the DAI is one of the biggest players in classical archaeological research, the guidelines may well come to have an influence beyond the institute's own projects.

The guidelines are available at http://www.dainst.de/index_892d6521bb1f14a113030017f0000011_de.html

Best wishes,

Orla
