Voyages to/from Southampton

I was hoping someone knowledgeable about the current state of bus and train service in/around the UK could pass on some advice. I'm scheduled to attend the CAA conference in Southampton, and was considering visiting Bletchley Park and/or the London Science Museum on the way back. How reliable are the online schedules of bus and train schedules? How long does one need to see Bletchley, and the Babbage steam machine, and get to/from the Science Museum to Heathrow?
Any help (including warnings of "don't do it") would be greatly appreciated.

pretty reliable. you should have no problem at that time of year, if you can see the trains you want

I'd suggest you allow for 2-3 hours at Bletchley. You could spend longer, of course.
And the Science Museum will take as long as you've got...

in the order of 60 minutes. 15 minute train ride from Paddington, 15 minutes underground from Science
Museum to Paddington, 30 minutes waiting for trains

Well, as someone who commutes between London and Southampton every
day, I can say the trains are usually very reliable, as are the online
timetables at nationalrail.co.uk. You can safely get to the Science
Museum in 2 hours, then from there to Heathrow in about 45 mins direct
by tube (see tfl.gov.uk). The Science Museum will take a couple of
hours, but you also have the Natural History and V&A museums next door
if you have more time to spare.
Bletchley is a far longer journey, 3 hours there, 2 hours back to Heathrow.

Bletchley Park is fascinating though, (well worth a visit, I believe is the phrase), but you will need at least a day to get there and see a fraction of what is on offer.
