Dear All,

I am happy to announce that the first stable release of AntConc 3.3.0 is now available for download for Windows, Macintosh OS X, and Linux here:

More information about this latest version can be found here:

AntConc 3.3.0 is a major upgrade of AntConc, including a completely new graphics engine that runs natively on all three platforms (so no more X11 on Macintosh OS X). As a result, AntConc 3.3.0 looks a lot better than the old AntConc 3.2.x versions. On both Windows and OS X, I have adjusted the general appearance so the whole feel of the program should be more modern than before. I have also fixed a few minor bugs and added a few new features including a range function and a simplified way to load lemma lists and reference corpora. You can read about the changes here:

Please let me know what you think of the new version.

Best regards,
Laurence Anthony

Dear Laurence,

Thanks for all your hard work on this.  It's getting better all the time.

I've noticed, though, that when I click on the node word in Concordance, the program freezes before properly displaying the File View.

I'm running the Mac version.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

I just tested AntConc 3.3.0 on the latest versions of Snow Leopard and Lion and clicking on the node word in the Concordance tool worked fine.

Here are a few things you might want to try:
1) Make sure that AntConc is being launched in a clean folder where no old settings are stored.

2) Make sure you actually using the latest version (not one of the older release candidates).

3) Try opening a simple plain text test file to see if that works.

Let me know what you find.

Laurence
