PLUM CREEK'S PET FAIR
The event is in Kyle on Saturday, October 10th from 10-2. Mac and Rob
will be setting up a AGA booth/table for Plum Creek’s first annual Pet
Fair. There is also a BBQ cook off taking place and a seed stomp for
the kids! The greys should get lots of visibility at this event. The
fee has been waived for any adoption group to participate and is free
to the public! The South Austin folks have been waiting for such an
event during the cooler temperatures in our neighborhood. There should
be lots of exposure and the possiblity of finding new Foster or
Forever Homes for our retired greyhounds! Directions:
From Brodie and Slaughter: Turn South onto Brodie and drive until it
deadends into 1626. Turn Right and continue on approximately 6 miles,
(nearly halfway- you will come to a 4-way stoplight. Shell should be
on your right). Continue onto the next 4-way stop sign, turn right
onto 2770 (Jack C. Hayes Highway). You will pass the highschool, then
middleschool on the right. Go straight at the light. Take your second
Left onto Fergus. Continue down and take your third Left onto Haupt.
This will bring you near to the pool area. Park wherever you can. The
park takes up a full block, and we should be found beyond (behind) the
pool, facing the golf course.
From 1-35 South: Take exit 215 and turn Right onto Kyle parkway/
FM1626. At 4-way stop turn left onto Kohlers Crossing. Turn Left at
light. Take your second Left onto Fergus. Continue down and take your
third Left onto Haupt.
Call Mac if you get lost (666-4683). Don’t forget to bring your lawn
chairs and some water. Hope you can make it out. The weather is
suppose to be beautiful! (We’ll see) If you are unable to make it out,
we’ll look forward to seeing you at the Great Outdoors!
ALSO IN OCTOBER ...
There will be a M&G at The Great Outdoors Nursery on South Congress
from 11:00-1:00 on Sunday, October 18th. Point: Rachael Barden
(
cay...@hotmail.com). This location is incredible to visit with its
huge oaks and winding paths. The owners and workers are always
thrilled to see the greys come for a visit.
GREYT EVENT IN HARKER HEIGHTS LAST WEEKEND
The "Way North" Coordinators had a greyt M&G at PetSmart last
Saturday. Special thanks to Lilly, Gatsby, Clarice, Daisy, Arial and
Star for enduring all that awful petting in order to educate folks
about their gentle dispositions and quiet nature. Adoptions up north
are poppin'.
CELTIC FEST
The setting is in Fiesta Gardens and the weather should be most
pleasant to be outdoors! Mark your calendars for November 7-8.. What
we need from you is to know if you’d be interested in manning the
booth for a one or two hour shift. This is a two-day event, and we are
trying to determine if we have enough interest for both Saturday and
Sunday or just one day. Please reply and let us know your thoughts so
we can get the ball rolling. If there is enough interest we can get
busy on working out a sign up detail to everyone. Contact: Bobbie

AGA's getting hounds adopted at a tremendous rate. We're fast
approaching the 100 mark, and It will soon be time for another haul of
new retirees. Thanks to everyone who is doing their part whenever
and whereever it happens to be. Get a free magnetic sign for your
vehicle. They really catch the eye of the public.
