MISSING HOUND & SHEPHERD !!!

Kenna Graunke sent us the following email today:

Tuesday, between 10:30 and 11:00 Clyde (aka Big Buyer) and my Shepard
mix, Jed, went missing from our 20 acres. Jed is a mama's boy and
checks in every 1/2 hour or so. Clyde, who usually hangs with the
puppy, checks in every hour. It was very strange that the puppy
wasn't with them. I was outside with them and went in to answer the
phone. My landlord came by at 11:30-The boys always come running when
a car pulls up the driveway. He was there for about 45 min fixing the
barn roof. Immediately after he left, I drove the area looking for
them.

I have driven miles and miles over the past 2 days. I hiked the 20
acres that afternoon and yesterday. We have lived there for 5 months
and the only thing different is 2 weekends ago, there were hunters in
the adjacent pasture. I have gone door to door trying to find out who
they are.

I just picked up 11/17 color posters with their photoswith the offer
of a reward. The local paper came out this morning with their pictures
and reward offer. I am leaving to plaster posters in every direction
from the house and at local businesses. I've notified my vet who lives
on the property almost directly across the road. His practice is
mobile so he is out and about a lot. And he just saw the kids last
week b/c Clyde had a little cut on his tail. I've checked the local
shelter and left photos.

I am numb. Those boys are my heart and soul. It feels like they have
been gone for weeks. Lucy, the puppy, sits outside and cries. Her and
Clyde were best friends. I promised them I would protect them. Jed had
a rough start. He had parvo as a baby, then an abcess from poor
medical technique. His 1st 4 months were spent in a little kennel at
the HS.

I don't have a working computer at home. I am writing this from the
library while the print shop finishes up posters. If you can think of
anything else I should be doing, please call me. 512-398-5380. I have
bronchitis and a sinus infection, so my voice comes and goes...If you
call and just hear a squeak in response, it's me.

Please pray for my boys. I am horrified to think this, but the only
thing I can think is that the hunters shot them. It is the only reason
that I can think of that at least one of them didn't return.

(We an all imagine what Kenna is feeling. Please call her asap if you
can help search or just to offer encouragement. She lives in the San
Marcos area, but she will have to give you the specifics. If you can
help in any way, please do. Thank you. AGA)
