Last weekend Diddlydoo (one of the new greys fresh off the farm)
decided to tear up a sleeping bag while unsupervised. She may have
had some help, but that’s irrelevant. Vomiting started Sunday and
into Monday when she turned down food and laid in her crate instead of
interacting with the others. Tuesday she went to Great Oaks then
straight to the Emergency Vet.

The doc called Bob about nine pm to say that after taking xrays they
got the gas cleared up in the bowel, but there was what appeared to be
a PIECE OF FABRIC stuck in there. They were prepping her for surgery.
It was purely a case of "The String That Binds". There were actually
THREE pieces of sleeping bag that were being held in check by the
thread. Three one inch incisions were needed to get it all. He said
that if not for string everything would have passed normally. She was
so close, but.......

Prognosis is for a full recovery. She has some angry parts, pancreas,
intestines, and stomach, but he said they'll calm down. He watched her
for a spell before closing and everything is working as it should.
"Good Girl". At 6:00 am she was transferred to Great Oaks for post op
care. She will be going back to Bob’s today, Friday. (Amazingly,
Lana had almost this very same thing happen to her cat, and she
definitely used up one of her nine lives that time around!)

Hello to all,
This is an e-mail from Amber Joy (Formerly CTW Zingara) reporting on
her five week anniversary in her permanent home.
I really like my new home. I have a big yard to run and play in and
sleep on a big pillow when I get tired. My new owners are very nice
and very smart. They have learned to sit, stay, lie down and not beg
while I am eating. They walk very nicely when holding a lead and are
friendly with the neighbors and other dogs. They always let me know
when they have to go out. If they are really nice to me, I let them
pet me and brush me. I do not like their brushing my teeth and have
made it very clear to them I do not like chicken flavored toothpaste.
They have learned so much in a few weeks. Next week I will work on
teaching them to fetch.
I will give you another report in a month or so to let you know how
they are doing.

On a completely less happy note, I got an "E" that Kurt & Debbie Garr
have lost "Marlin". He was there big ten year old male that cancer had
finally taken it's toll on. Feel free to send condolences if you'd
like.
