OK, I tried it your way, Joan and Jesse. This is kind of cool. Not as
good as yours, but not bad I think. Just a quickie to get my feet weet.
It's pretty dusty in PSP right now. A month is a long time to go without a
computer. Maybe next year I should rent a laptop to take with me to
Arizona, especially since I plan to stay 6 weeks then!

Have a great day, all!

Well you know I'm trying to get some stuff done around here so this morning
Bob and I painted the bedroom floor to match the walls. We painted it white
then used sponges and alternated between the light blue and dark blue. Gave
it kind of a marble effect. Looks great but I've reduced myself to crawling
from the living room to the computer room. Don't want to think about how
I'm going to get upstairs tonight. Yes I know if I had a brain I would be
dangerous.

Pat, Pat, Pat. What are we going to do with you, huh? You should probably
alternate between soaking in a hot tub and using ice packs now before the
pain gets worse. You are way worse than me. I have learned my limits and
stick to them. OK, fine, I've just gotten lazy in my old age. You really
need to stop doing stuff if you expect to get back in decent shape with that

Once the bedroom is completely put together I'll take some pictures and post
them so you can see it. Can't afford to do awhole lot so instead of wall to
wall we did the painting of the floors. The walls are a pale blue, the
decorative molding is done in the dark blue, wood work is done in white.
Have a real pretty cottage and white picket fence with dark blue edges
border, navy blue lace curtains, blue braided throw rugs, and a blue floral
bed set. Hope it will all turn out the way I hope.

Your sanity and health is way more important than things you could buy with
that hard earned money, Sue! We have done without lots for all these years
cause I felt it was more important for me to be home with the kids. You
just have to get your priorities straight! It is well worth it, and I'm so

It sounds just wonderful Pat. I can't wait to see the pictures.
My wall to wall is really showing it's age now. We are trying to decide what
to put down next. Carpet is a joke with all these kids. I don't know. Any
suggestions???? I am not able to spend a fortune either. I pretty much quit
doing the day care thing so I would stay sane. So that cut some out of our
budget. It is worth it though.

If I remember correctly you have a large home, biological children and
foster children. Any way you look at it I don't think it will be cheap so
why not get some nice area rugs that will go with the wall to wall and put
them in the high traffic area. This way you can cover up some of the worn
spots. Unless you really want to get rid of the wall to wall. If you have
nice wood floors underneath why cover them back up. Then you can just
refinish the floor and place some area rugs about. Keep some nice
comforters or afgahns about for the kids to lay on the floor to watch TV
with. Just some thoughts as I don't know your tastes.

are either out of school (the mom's) or they quit their jobs or found other

No.
I am going to be on the new formed foster parent recruitment commitee and
the foster parent panel. It is for people who want to find out more about

Boy to get paid to do the jobs around the house! Must be nice. I can
remember the days when an allowance was 50 cents a week and we thought we
were privilaged to get that. Now I don't know what you all did for your 50
cents but doing the dishes all week, making our beds, dusting the furniture
and vacuuming is what we did. If we wanted extra money we were allowed to
do odd jobs for the nieghbors. Believe it or not one of my favorite jobs
was ironing. I got 5 cents for small pieces and 10 cents for the larger
pieces.

why else would a person take a young child to a place like that. Also from

LOLOL I hear that. Tiff asked me if she cleaned out the babies pool would I
pay her for it? I told her it is a shame that they think they have to be
paid for everything. LOL She didn't buy it.
Sonny just got done with the yard.
I made a quick stir fry (for me) for lunch. Just a boneless skinless chicken
breast and fresh zucchini & green peppers out of my sisters garden. I also
put a few baby carrots and onions in it. That is it. Just fry it up with
some Pam so it doesn't stick. I lost 2 lbs. last week. Trying to keep it up.
<S> The kids act like I am a nut for eating it. I think it is delicious. The
kids would rather eat spaghetti O's <gag, puke>
Other than that I am listening to NSYNC on my CD player while I type. The
kids love them. :-) I think they seem like nice boys so I approve.
Notice things got a bit quieter around here <VBG> .
I know I am so happy to have Bruce and Mark join the group aren't you? I
think they are great additions. We need some new blood once in awhile.
I guess I am going to make some kind of casserole for supper. My Tiffany
says it is delicious. We will see. LOL
It is HOT HOT HOT here today. Hits me like a wall when I walk outside.
Went to check on my pumpkin plants out back. They look good but I guess we
will give them a drink in the morning if it doesn't rain tonight.
Did I tell you that my Danielle went to spend a couple nights with her mom
last week. She came home describing the store her mom took her to. It was a
tattoo/drug paraphernalia store. She told me about the bongs and hitters she
saw there. I was mad. I wrote her mom and told her no more unsupervised
visits. Danielle is 14 been with me since she was 10. She doesn't need that.
She can come to my house and visit. I was afraid Danielle would be really
upset with me but she acts relieved. She knows I love her. I read the letter
to her. She approved.
I think that is why she told me. So I would do something like that. She is
such a sweet kid. Her mom has never shown an interest in her. When she came
here her mom would promise to come and visit like on birthdays and such. She
would never show up. Danielle would be so upset. I think she is older now so
she understands better. Some people just aren't meant to be parents.

Frigadella is German, my mom always makes it. Kind of mix up like you would
meatloaf with ground beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, minced onion, form into
patties, then dip into breadcrumbs, and fry till done. I love stir fry,
too. That sounds so delicious! Kids just have no taste. Congratulations
on your weight loss! That's great. I have at least 10-15 lb to lose from
my trip home. What a shame about Danielle. For her and her mother. They
are both missing out on so much. Well, at least I hear there are some
mothers and daughters out there that actually get along and like each other.
I haven't experienced that yet with Ash. Maybe in another 20 years. But

I would love the recipe.
I feel sorry for the mom too. But you have to keep the best interests of the
child in the forefront of your mind as a foster/adoptive parent. Can't worry
about anyone else's interests. I used to and it drove me crazy. So my social
worker friend explained it to me. Adults make decisions and they have to
live with them. Children are the innocent bystanders. They have to be
protected at all costs. When we allowed Danielle to visit unsupervised we
trusted the mom to do the right thing and make smart choices. If she is not
capable of that then supervised visits are all she will get. Yes she is
missing out on a beautiful, sweet, wonderful good girl. It breaks my heart
because all kids need to feel loved by their mom's.
Hugs, Sue

Well, I don't know about the same place. But at least within a 20 mile

Of course, we hope our kids would feel the same way, but you never know. My

Pete and I have passed the 20 year mark.
But yes it is sad. That is all Sonny sees though with his friends. I think
it is awful the way people change spouses like old clothes. I was married to
my first husband for 5 years and if I hadn't gotten beat up every other day
and he hadn't been unfaithful with everything in a skirt I wouldn't have
divorced him. But Pete and I have never been through any of that. Not to say

Well, I have been married since 1971. To three hubbies. Third time is a
charm! Abusive spouses must be dropped for ones own sanity and safety,
whether it's physical or mental abuse. No one should be expected to stay
with an abuser. In the old days everyone stayed out of it. I'm glad now
there's more focus on the problem and solutions out there. Marriage does
take a lot of work to keep it running smoothly, that's for sure, and a lot
of communication. And the old 50-50 is crap. Women still give 90 at least.
We have so much more to put up with!

I don't take stuff for the sinus or allergy. They never work for me, and
the anti-histamines just knock me out. Usually about the time it's time to
head up to the busstop to get the kids. Ugh. Hope you're feeling better
soon.

AMEN SISTAH!!!!!!
well I don't know if they are or not. But we aren't talking about them. They
must be different because after all who do they chose to hang with except
the coolest ladies on the Net. Right?

If the real meds work, I say go for it. I've gotten tons of prescription
stuff, and that doesn't even help me, so I just sit and suffer through it.
If it's not one thing, it's another!

I have been feeling quite well lately so I was a little miffed to have to
take anything. I tried not to yesterday and by 10 a.m. my right side of my
head was in so much pain. Felt like a toothache and a jaw ache and a
headache all rolled into one. Thought I would cut it off at the pass today.
I did and paid the price. Now I am going to either have to take more or call
the doctor for a check up, and real meds instead of the over the counter
ones. Using Karla's word RAZM!!

I printed one out for Pete and he put it on his lunch box. He thought it was
cool.

Best get a doctor's appointment, then. Don't want to wait too long if it's
an infection.

I don't know how you do it Jan. The pain is too much to bear. Maybe I have a
sinus infection.
