Subject: Anki mouse clicks not registering / offset from pointer with Wacom tablet

I have just discovered Anki and it looks to be tremendous software. However
my mouse misbehaves with this software!

When I click the software often fails to respond, or if it does react it is
often the wrong control that is activated - as if the click is offset from
the pointer.

Indeed sometime when I click into the Anki window (when another window has
the focus) I actually see the mouse pointer jump a seemingly random
distance in a random direction (although interestingly the jump is always
up the screen).

My mouse is a Wacom Graphire tablet with the wireless mouse accessory. I
think this is where the problem lies! If I use the pressure sensitive
Graphire Pen (instead of the mouse) Anki works perfectly. There is one
other app (of the dozens on my PC) that shows similar symptoms: Picard by
MusicBrainz.

I wonder whether there is a common library between the two apps?

I am using the latest stable version of Anki (1.2.8) on Windows 7 x64, with
the latest Wacom drivers.

Can anyone confirm this odd behaviour?

Any solutions?

Thanks,

Ampa

PS - I have posted on Wacom Europe's forum requesting assistance:

It looks like they both use the QT toolkit (and Python). I think I
read Anki is moving to a different toolkit for 2.0 due to problems
with QT.

Qt is not without faults, but it's the best multiplatform toolkit out
there, and Anki 2 is not moving away from it.

To the original poster: please reproduce the problem in one of the
demo programs bundled with the qt SDK, and then report a bug on the qt
bug tracker if one does not already exist.

I found several bug reports linking QT with lost mouse events on Wacom
tablets...

https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-5065
https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-6127

I also tried another QT based app on this machine... VLC with the same
result: in the preferences / options dialog almost all mouse clicks are
lost.
