Firstly, love the work you guys are doing here. I'm trying to get my
T91 working properly, everything works apart from the screen
resolution. Unfortunately the T91 has the really lame GMA 500
graphics chip.

I have tried the UVESA_MODE setting but no love. I was trying to get
the i915 BIOS extensions working but the guide has a broken link in
it.

the guide is here:
http://code.google.com/p/patch-hosting-for-android-x86-support/wiki/RunAndroidWithEeePCResolutionUsingGrub2

the broken URL is:
http://218.211.38.204/eeesoft/pool/main/g/grub2/

Does anyone have an alternative link or updated guide for this?

Also has anyone managed to get the GMA 500 working at a decent
resolution. i don't mind if it is smaller than 1024x600 as long as it
is not stretched.

Also does anyone know if the i915 extensions will work for the GMA 500?

GMA500(Poulsbo) is unrelated to i915 driver,
so any i915 trick you mentioned doesn't work.

For now, the only workable framebuffer driver
on T91 is uvesafb or vesafb (specifying vga=788).

There is a poulsbo drm driver available in
ubuntu and moblin. But as my last tests
(probably half a year ago), it doesn't work
on android-x86.
However, I encourage technicians to hack it.

BTW, thanks for pointing out the missing link.
It is still accessible at
http://debian.tarot.com.tw/eeesoft/pool/main/g/grub2/
However, as I said, it won't help you.

Thanks for your quick response,
i figured the i915 wouldn't work from my googling but thought it might
be worth a try.
It's a real shame that he t91 uses the GMA 500, it stops me from being
able to install a lot of OS's easily.
Otherwise it would make a fantastic android tablet.

Anyway keep up the good work, you guys are doing an amazing job, the
latest r2 release is really solid!
