Now for the big news,

Android 4.1 a.k.a JellyBean source already released to AOSP

We're releasing Android 4.1 in AOSP today.

The name of the tagged release is android-4.1.1_r1.

The name of the development branch is jb-dev.

We recommend that you create new clients, even if you're working in
the master branch. It'll make your clients smaller and faster to
sync.

Proprietary binaries are available for Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus.
Nexus
S and Xoom will follow.

JBQ, on behalf of the entire Android team at Google.

Does anyone know if it's gonna be released by the Android-x86 group?

I would suggest patience (even though this is sure to become a FAQ within hours)

- Even when they've finished uploading it to AOSP, it will take a while to get hold of
- Even after getting the source, it won't work magically. Far from it.
- Even after getting something to work, it will probably not work right on x86 for the first few _months_.

Plus it's Summertime, and most people tend to have holidays. Consider that the x86 maintainers are still doing an ICS RC.
