Hi, I've installed android-x86-4.0-RC1-eeepc.iso to HDD of Emachines
netbook (Acer-like) with success. All the hardware seems to work nice.
But I haven't foung any option to switch it off except holding the OFF
button.
The worst thing is that after every boot the system is clear like it
was after factory reset.
What can I do with it?
Second question: how to change the boot menu in Grub to force Windows
boot first?
Thanks

Try pressing twice the power button, like a double tap

Yes, It works! I also solved the Grub problem.

But after each boot I have the Welcome screen with language selection and all the previous settings and installed apps are gone.
What am I doing wrong? I am using NTFS. Can this be the problem?

Yes, double click works. I also solved the Grub problem.
But after every boot I meet the Welcome screen with language selection and all settings wiped.

For the second question I have answer...
Open X:/grub/menu.lst from windows (where you install android)
Cut from title windows to chainloader +1
Paste it before android...
It must be success :D

Thanks for the answers. Sorry for the mess I made here.
Any solution for the "always clean" problem?

Well, I have finally found the problem during reinstallation. At the
first time I did not allow to make a space for user data. Mea culpa!
OK, so now it finally works! I must say, good job!
BTW there is probably a bug at the instalator. It seems that the
instalator is capable to change the file system, but in fact it is
not. When I tried to format different file system, I always got an
"Error 17" message at startup and it hanged.
But all in all I am very satisfied!

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work for me, on 701 EeePC.

sleep is also broken, after going to sleep it wakes up with 1 to 60 seconds, and stays awake.

The two issues combined and kind of unfortunate :-(

This is with the android-x86-4.0-RC1-eeepc.iso image from the website. It is latest git likely to be any better?

Thanks

Maybe the format is successful,
and Grub is missing some moduls.
