to Squeezer
hi Brad, thanks much for starting this.

I'm just trying it on my HTC Hero, and not having much luck; would
appreciate your comments, please...?

It connects to my SC server, and I can see the list of Players, and
select one. But I don't see any list of music, nor any way to do
anything else...

I am running SC 7.4; does that make a difference? Are there any SC
changes I need to make to support your Squeezer?

thanks again; I'm just changing from an iPod touch, using iPeng, to an
Android phone, so was really hoping for a good SC app.

best regards,
calum.

Thanks for being a guinea pig!  :-)

Sounds like it's working then!

There's no list of music implemented yet.  Just pause/play/next/back, volume, notifications during playback etc.

I'm running SC 7.3, so I don't know.

If pause/play/etc don't work, can you use the app while running "adb logcat" in another window, and paste me the output for stuff that's not working?  I can try SC 7.4 later today, though.

Give me a couple weeks to make Squeezer polished.  It only has two nights of hacking on it right now and I feel like I have all the hard parts done (networking, background service, etc...).    It should improve rapidly from here.

Thanks for trying it out!

thanks for the quick reply, Brad,

apologies, I didn't realise what was and wasn't yet implemented.

In that case, it's working perfectly :) Once I start something playing
in SC, I can then control it from Squeezer; nice one.

No problem so far with the CLI in 7.4 then, that's good. iPeng has had
problems with 7.4, of course it's using the "real" low-level interface,
which changes from time to time.

Are you aware of the other Android Squeeze app? I've lost its name right
now, and it seems to be on hiatus...

yes of course, and that's impressive progress.

am happy to continue testing it out for you; I'll watch here for update
notes and try out new versions.

thanks again.

cheers,
calum.
