openssl can convert certificates to/from most any type.  You can find
it on any linux machine, but there are versions for windows too.

I sent certs to my phone via email, but you can transfer via usb too.
For email, I had to rename the file as a .jpg or android (2.0) would
not let me save the attachment.  Then I renamed back to .p12 with
Astro file manager.

In 2.0, import cert via settings/Locations and Security/Install from
SD card.
