First congratulation for this great jobs (and I now that all people do
that on their personnal times ... I don't understand why Intel is no
investing in Qt for androids regarding his strategy
Meego/Android/Windows) ...
Is there an approximate timeline for the beta and final release ? Will
your works merge in open governance Qt projects ?
We are planning to release another two alpha then we'll release beta and stable.
Next alpha (alpha3) we contain a lot of new things check [0], I'll
highlight only a few:
- OpenGL support
- seamless assets support
- most probably we'll switch to android built in atomics, this will
break the ABI !!!
On alpha4 we'll rewrite java part and Ministro.
Yes we have an approximate timeline:
- release alpha3 this month.
- release alpha4 till end of november. (if we finish java part and
Ministro earlier, we'll release it earlier).
- if NO regressions will be reported, alpha4 will be renamed as beta
release, hopefully until the end of this year. Beta release means
we'll guarantee API & ABI compatibility, so, you can safely deploy
your apps to Android Market.
Cheers,
BogDan.
