Hello,

1.
I may be dumb but I can't find much documentation.
http://community.kde.org/Necessitas/QuickStartDevelop is almost empty.
Where's the info about classes, etc.

2.
If I run ./necessitas-x.y-online-sdk-installer-linux on ubuntu 12.04
64 bit I get 'File not found', though the chmod succeeds.

I'm totally new on android. Currently I'm using QtCreator on ubuntu
for porting a big app of mine, then copying the code to my tablet
where I run C4Droid which uses necessitas and is able to generate
an .apk.
This works rather well so far (knock knock).

Thanks.

This "File not found" error in a 64 bit system may mean that you're missing some 32-bit libraries. Try installing wine, which depends on a bunch of 32-bit libraries, and then see if it works.

Dear, god, no.  If you want to install the 32bit libraries, you'd install that package - ia32.  If you want to see the qt class docs, you can install those, as well from the package manager.  All the Qt classes should be pretty much identical from Qt-desktop and Qt-Necessitas.  They are also available online http://doc.qt.digia.com/stable/classes.html .  I'm not sure what's up with the necessitas installer, but it should be getting you those exact same docs.

It's simple, make a test app or load a demo or an example. They just work, by and large - no sound or multimedia yet though.

Thanks both.
The installer indeed works on ubuntu 32 bit (in virtual box). I did
find wine a bit overkill yes.

The link with docs is for qt4.7 though, and I'm not sure that is
necessitas specific. I would like some good info about installing/
using necessitas, I still feel a bit blind coding.

thanks all,

On 32 bit linux the installer works yes. Wine seemed a bit overkill.
For installing with -ia32 it would be handy if I knew what libs it
needs. :)
As for docs, that link was for qt 4.7, i have 4.8 on ubuntu.

Most things work indeed (though i have trouble with resizeevent not
firing on one device, maybe android version 2.3 to blame?) though I
still feel a bit coding with blindfold.

But I won't complain, things go surprisingly well.
