Using gcc-4.2 instead of gcc-4.3 should help avoid modifying source,
that is
  $ TARGET_ARCH=x86 TARGET_PRODUCT=eee_701 DISABLE_DEXPREOPT=true
CC=gcc-4.2 CXX=g++-4.2 make ........
