glEGLImageTargetTexture2DOES failed

Hi,
while porting from froyo to gingerbread, we are getting the following
error from logcat.

E/SurfaceFlinger( 101): glEGLImageTargetTexture2DOES(0x4733b8) failed
err=0x0502

i understand that, glEGLImageTargetTexture2DOES returns a
INVALID_OPERATION error, but could not find the root cause of the
error.

would be glad, if i could get some help on this

I got same error message on Nexus One, Android SDK 2.3 each time start
Activity via pending Intent of Widget application.

I got some information from there:

But still don't known root cause of this error message,

Hi,

In our environment, glEGLImageTargetTexture2DOES, fails due to
improper pixel format from surface flinger.
Here is the patch we used to fix it, may be useful for you also:
