Recompiling a kernel with USB webcam support was easy. If I plug in
the camera it shows up as /dev/video0

The default camera app. would display the preview (most of the time).
But capturing crashed the application.

Just as mentioned in device/ti/panda/README :

"Everything camera-related crashes."

However, it seems someone is working on this and it seems to be
fixed :

Hi,

I like to use the pandaboard with an USB camera. I managed to compile android and a kernel with USB camera support. 

The panda board boots fine with it however the camera does not work.

I even tried this http://omappedia.org/wiki/Building_L27.IS.2.M1_for_PandaBoard,_with_USB_camera_support but it would not work.

From what I have found there is no USB camera support in the panda build for android yet. However, I found numerous messages of people claiming to have a working USB camera but they never tell how they did it.

Is there a way to have android on the pandaboard with a working USB camera?
