Hi,

If you can customize the kernel in your platform, you can enable USB
host and CONFIG_USB_SERIAL_PL2303. This should give /dev/ttyUSBx..

Is that what you are looking for?

We are successful in using Prolific PL2303 USB to UART cable with Nexus One.

Follow instructions at http://sven.killig.de/android/N1/2.2/usb_host/
to enable USB Host.
Kernel works great with AOSP build for passion.
