I can install a WebKit plugin, like the one in sample/BrowserPlugin,
on both rooted and non-rooted Eclair devices. But only on rooted
devices is it really being loaded by the browser. On non-rooted
devices, WebKit seems to ignore the plugin without expressing a
complaint.

JBO said in June 2009... "The core of the issue is that the browser
and the plugin typically come from different entities, and therefore
the plugin shouldn't be allowed to execute code under the browser's
identity."

What is there a solution to this?

Plugins are not currently supported, sorry.

It would be a shame, if one prominent company is in a position to
announce and release their browser plugin, while other developers are
not able to find out anything about your planning in this regard. How
about this: will I be able to install and update my own plugin from
the store or over the Web? Thank you.
