ndk r5 build bug?

when building under cygwin, if a build fails subsequent builds of the
same file fail with the error:
obj/local/armeabi/objs/<path>/<file>..o.d:1: *** target pattern
contains no `%'. Stop.

deleting obj/local/armeabi/objs/<path>/<file>..o.d allows the build to
continue

Yeah, I wrote a script to do that.

But prior ndk's didn't require it, so this is at best an undesirable
feature.
