Subject: UK G1 Update available
Just got an upgrade for my UK G1 by using the AnyCut "Device Info"
method, it updates the 'phone from;

kila_uk-user 1.0 TC5-RC7 112931

to

kila_uk-user 1.0 TC5-RC8 116470

(showing some pretty pictures along the way).

The upgrade doesn't say it, but it's a good idea to have your G1
charging when you do the upgrade.

And yes, it does fix the "type reboot and reboot your device" bug.

I have RC7 and despite regularly doing 'check for upgrade' using the
device info screen, I'm not seeing RC8 being offered for download.

Is there any reason why this may be?  It reports a successful check
when using either 3G and WIFI but no update is ever presented as
pending :(

Is the update staggered in waves?  How is it discriminated as to which
handsets to get the update and which updates not to get it?
