Subject: Google outs remote kill switch in Android
n the Android Market terms of service, Google expressly says that it
might remotely remove an application from a user's phone. "Google may
discover a product that violates the developer distribution
agreement ... in such an instance, Google retains the right to
remotely remove those applications from your device at its sole
discretion," the terms, linked to from the phone, read.

This sounds like another iPhone "take". This should be no problem with
us users...it looks like Google will lose a lot in this process and
have more to deal with.

Hope this helps.

Happy beginnings to all :-)

If it's true that google has a kill switch like the iphone, it's just
a matter of time before it's able to be disabled.
I for one would never purchase or support a device that had a kill
switch. Just look at what apple did with their operating systems.
People that purchased the kick ass (non apple) hardware and installed
OSX on it got it bricked by apple. apple and their draconian attitudes
are NOT what
google needs.

I dont think this will be acceptable as a phone user.
Imagine, Dell telling me what I can or cannot install on my laptop,
absolutely ludicrous.
Are they targeting application which cut into operators profits such
as VOIP, Messaging?
