  Don&#39;t feel too bad, that is bizarre behavior for jarsigner on Vista. &lt;br&gt; The same thing happened to me, so I made some notes to prevent getting &lt;br&gt; surprised should something like that happen again. I don&#39;t know if &lt;br&gt; Vista is at fault or if it is some attempt by the JDK to follow a &lt;br&gt; peculiar Windows convention.

  What type of view is it? There are only a handful of view classes that &lt;br&gt; actually save and restore state (TextView and a few others). What type of &lt;br&gt; object is it returning?   Yes I am using Windows Vista and the keystore was exactly where you &lt;br&gt; said. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;When I created my keystore file I was in the directory where the &lt;br&gt; keytool.exe is located under c:\Program Files\Java\...\bin and it &lt;br&gt; actually created the keystore file under c:\&amp;lt;username&amp;gt;\AppData\Local &lt;br&gt; \VirtualStore\Program Files\Java\...\bin.
