Seems like you're pointing to the wrong proxy server (or the wrong
port). You can always run strace on the repo process to see exactly
what's going on.

I don't know what this error is about, but if you *do* need to go
through a proxy there's little point in debugging the errors that
occurs when you're not trying to use the proxy.
