On the plus side, you can change the timeout of the campaign cookie
using pageTracker._setCookieTimeout. In theory if you set the timeout
to 1 day (or even 30 minutes) you might be able to get the behavior
you are looking for.

I need to figure out how to track a 6 step process in which 4 of the
steps allow two payment options. Same product but different options.

Here is an example scenario:

Product 1 for $1300 upfront or 3 payments of $500

Product 2 for $900 upfront or 3 payments of $350

I found a way to solve the problem.

I removed the

Tabbed Browsing

How does Google Analytics deal with tabbed browsing?

Does every new tab opened (within the same Web site) count as a new
visit? Does it register a 100% bounce rate? Is time on site measured
PER tab and maybe added?

Please enlighten me :)

One profile works no others work

I have set up several accounts with multiple sites in each. I have
successfully created a profile under one of the sites to segment out
the statistics in our public pages. However when I tried to create the
same profile associated with another domain in the same account or
others it will not pull in data.

Determining Visitor Session

Hello,

A question regarding sessionisation, being operated in conjunction
between the cookies _utmb and _utmc.

Pretty clear is one direction: user visits a page, both cookies are
set, visitor leaves page and comes back in less than 30 minutes => new
session is started, as _utmc is missing (although _utmb is still up).

I am just starting out with campaign tracking and have a question. I
have used the campaign tool to set the parameters; utm_source=whatever
etc. When I click to the landing page, the parameters show correctly
in the url. I have the standard ga tracking code on the landing page,
and on all other pages in my site.

Once you have set the tracking right, try using track event function
pageTracker._trackEvent("secti on","event name","label")

I found it quite useful in tracking flash movie events such as start ,
stop, pause etc..
I am sure you can use this to track a downloads too.

maybe it works for unknown webs sites but we have been investing a lot
in off-line marketing for years building a recognised brand so we have
"direct" visits because people came to our site when they need travel
related services.

report.

I've followed your advice & noticed the second part of my Tracking
