Hi - There is no option to change the "website URL".
I know it doesn't make any difference, and is not used in any part of
the reporting - but - I'm not the only person using this account.
There are other people in this company looking at our Analytics
account, for critical reporting summaries and data.
*I* know the account that says "somewrongdomain.com" next to it, is
actually "thecorrectdomain.com" and that where I can find the
reporting for our main website -- but no one else does. It takes time,
each time, for me to explain this to other users and people accessing
the reporting... and I'm just wondering why I can't just edit the
"website URL" it's a field just like all the others - right?
I contacted customer service back when that was an option for
Analytics accounts (I'm also an AdWords user) and was told the issue
would be forwarded to an engineer (I'm assuming, to be handled one-off
for me). Nothing's changed on my end after several months, and now I
don't have an easy way to contact Goog Support about an Analytics
issue (unless I lie, and say this is an AdWords issue - which it is
not).
I have better things to do with my time, than having to explain why
the wrong website URL is right, and manually changing that title when
it comes up in reporting which I share with staff here (and which they
share with even more people who don't understand why the "website URL"
title is wrong - and actually is the same as the title we use to track
one of our sub-domains, which only adds to the confusion).
Please advise...
