Good morning everybody!

Again, it's the time for a cold beer and and a nice chat about Ruby
and some other stuff at our favorite bar just next to Nieuwmarkt.

Due to the phenomenal weather conditions, I suggest to sit outside (I
don't remember who proposed that on our last meeting but anyway, it's
a good suggestion) and enjoy the sunlight.

See you all tonight!

Best regards,
Javier.-

I won't make it either. Just got back from a great vacation, but now I
need to catch up on sleep...

Cheers,

Wes

Hi everybody!

After surviving a phenomenal-weather-turn-into-a-tropical-storm-with-lightnings-and-stuff day, here I bring you a little recap of what happened on our meeting yesterday:
  • First meeting sitting outside: everything was fine until the nasty cloud came and wash-up the meeting.

  • Testing: why should you test, different testing techniques and how to test using different frameworks such as Rspec, Cucumber, Shoulda, etc.
  • Amazon Web Services and the Rudy deployment tool: details concerning how S3 and EC2 works, application deployment and perspectives for the enterprise
  • Instance validations on Ruby: why you should validate your input with Validations4r and how to create your custom validation library with the Validator DSL.
For those of you who want to check, inspect or even colaborate with the projects we've been discussing, here you have the links to the Github repositories:
Please, let me know if I forgot to mention something.

See you next time!

Javier.-

Also, it was suggested to move the (official) start of the meeting
earlier to 19h, since most of the time people already arrive there :)

Hi Filip,

Thanks for the reminder. We can implement that since our next meeting.

Does anybody knows how to access the code of the Amsterdam.rb website and change the start time of the meetings?

Best regards,
Javier.-

Hi Remco,

Yes, you can change the start time of the meetings to 19:00 on the website.

HI again,

I think that most of the regular people would not have any problems with that. So be it then.

Best regards,

Javier.-
