Next Meetup

Folks,

two days ahead of us we have the regular schedule for the Meetup. Backbase will be open again to host all of us parens geeks... BUT!! As Rogier pointed out, it's Netherlands-Germany day, and as I know pure Dutch people can put aside their own life to be able to watch such a match I think it might be wise to postpone it a week ahead, when there's no match scheduled?

Please talk now, or forever hold your vuvuzela :-)

I replied to this e-mail hitting reply from my mail, but apparently my answer hasn't arrived yet. Trying again.

I'm not a big soccer fan and I have an appointment in the late afternoon in Amsterdam (planned to combine it with the Clojure meeting in the evening).

So if other people still plan to come, count me in.

Ok, I's say we can draw some conclusions here.

Gijs: won't attend if meetup is held on the regular day

Michiel: already planned the day

Others: not much concerns for the time overlapping with 22 folks running behind a ball (usually ending up with a draw)

Since we're kind of late to reschedule, I'd apologize to Gijs and buy him dinner on the next meetup, and stick to the normal schedule.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow then :-)

p.s.: an idea from the colleagues: we might use our meetup time to code a live score app :-)

I'm planning to invite some more students for the next meeting before their summer vacation starts. Maybe it would be interested to hear / see a demo about Datomic this time? Maybe someone wants to give a demo? (I myself don't know much about it yet).

That would make for a great presentation, but unfortunately I too don't have enough knowledge at this time nor time to lear about it and put a presentation together.

Any volunteer? :-)

p.s.: BTW, next meetup we have at least one presentation scheduled, with Walter presenting some of his real world applications of Clojure
