origami build fails

Hello,

I'm trying to build 3.04 on Linux pyrope 2.6.30-gentoo-r5 #10 SMP Sun
Nov 15 08:31:36 NST 2009 x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU.

I built amrita earlier this week and thought all was well. However,
when I tried today to use origami it failed. Following advice I was
given earlier this year I ran:

xterm -class AMrgi -name amrgi -ut -display :0 -hold -e \
/home/rmason/AMRITA/AMRITAv3.04/bin/serial/Linux/x86_64/O/origami

and the resulting xterm says "Cannot open termcap file".

I decided to re-build amrita and the origami build fails:

amrmake -verbose src3p::origami

I have libtermcap.a (compiled on a 32-bit system) in /usr/local/lib and

SYSTEM/Linux/x86_64/use/Termcap contains:

lib = termcap
#ldir = /usr/lib /usr/lib/termcap
ldir = /usr/local/lib

What happens if you try:

export ORIGAMIHOME=$AMRITA/src3p/origami/keys

and then run the xterm command.

Exactly the same: the resulting xterm says "Cannot open termcap file".

following a call to tgetent. On my machine it's looking for:

/etc/termcap

which is a symbolic link to:

/usr/share/misc/termcap

You should check that you have the file and it is readable.
