Hi All,

My AMATYC presentation on youtube video making and online office hours is posted at:

http://www.amatyc.org/Events/conferences/2011Austin/proceedings.html <http://www.amatyc.org/Events/conferences/2011Austin/proceedings.html>
Session S090 - Bring Your Teaching Into Online Courses With Videos and Office Hours

(Download the PPT document if you want to view videos of the demos - the PPT links are live but the pdf ones are not.)

The presentation covers:
-  the two easiest ways to make youtube videos
-  how to set up and link to an online office hour at WiZiQ.com
-  equipment recommendations
-  final exam pass rates before and after youtube videos (and before and after paper hw for one class)
-  the QCC Math Department youtube channel

I'm absolutely convinced that online developmental math students do better when their own teacher makes videos to answer their questions. If you've considered making youtube videos but aren't sure how to start, check out the presentation and give it a try! Also, feel free to share the powerpoint with any colleagues who might like to try making youtube videos too.

Denise,

Thank you for sharing this link with us.  In addition to pointing us to your valuable presentation it served as a reminder that many of the presentations and materials from the conference are posted on the AMATYC website.  I watched a few that I had to miss due to conference conflicts and found them enjoyable.

Mary Beth
