Altshul will meet Shabbat morning, July 10th at Beth Elohim. Kindershul will start at the beginning of the Torah services.

2.    Saturday Morning Minyan, August 14, 10am
Altshul will meet Shabbat morning, August 14th at Beth Elohim. Kindershul will start at the beginning of the Torah services.

3.    Friday Night Minyan, July 16, 7pm
Altshul will meet Friday, August 20th for Kabbalat Shabbat and Maariv at 7pm at Beth Elohim.

There are so many things to celebrate as a community. If you have mazal tov worthy news like a bat mitzvah, birth, new job, or graduation, please send the details to in...@altshul.org so that your accomplishments can be shared with everyone!
  • Mazal Tov to Becky Porath and Daniel Septimus on the birth of a baby boy! The bris will take place on Sunday July 25th at 10:30am at Union Temple, located at 17 Eastern Parkway.  If you would like to make or contribute to a meal for Daniel and Becky please contact Amanda Pogany at ama...@jdubrecords.org.
  • Mazal Tov to Erika Scott on the occasion of her Bat Mitzvah on Saturday, July 24th.
  • Congratulations to Lani Santo on being named Executive Director of Footsteps, an organization supporting people exploring beyond ultra orthodoxy.  Lani will begin with Footsteps in August.
  • Mazal Tov to Samantha Traub and David Koffman on the birth of Oriolle Margot Koffman, on July 12, 2010.

These days, there are so many voices in the media talking about money – from Wall Street traders to small business owners to disaster survivors.  But where – and how -- do the worlds of wealth and poverty collide?  Join us for an evening dedicated to breaking down these complicated issues and exploring the relationship between them.  With a multimedia presentation, a local expert on poverty and wealth inequality, and an opportunity to tap into the knowledge and perspectives in our own midst, you will leave this interactive evening with new information, new questions and likely new friends.  Let's Listen -- Learn – and Talk About Money!

Join us for a Shacharit Yoga Series, three Tuesdays this summer from 7:30-8:30 am. Taught by Altshul community member Shuli Passow

DescriptionJuly 27, and August 24 Drop-in: $15/class A morning series to awaken the body, mind and spirit through the traditions of Jewish prayer and Hatha Yoga.
Each session will integrate yoga asana practice, self-directed meditation, and a brief teaching on one element of the shacharit (morning) prayer service.  Beginners welcome.
