Subject: Opera Lafayette - Thursday 10/4 in DC and Wednesday 10/17 in NYC

Hi Music Fans,

I'll be singing with the Opera Lafayette chorus in the modern world premiere performance of the opera-ballet Zélindor, roi des Sylphes by Rebel and Francoeur (1745).  This is a concert performance with The New York Baroque Dance Company, on Thursday, October 4 in the Washington DC area and Wednesday, October 17 in New York City.  Here are the details:

Jean-Paul Fouchécourt, Zélindor
Heidi Grant Murphy, Zirphé
William Sharp, Zulim

Opera Lafayette Orchestra and Chorus - Ryan Brown, Conductor and Artistic Director

The New York Baroque Dance Company - Catherine Turocy, Artistic Director and Choreographer

From Opera Lafayette's website: "[This] 1745 opéra-ballet, [is] a rococo work representing a fantastical meeting of the denizens of earth, sea, and sky. Jean-Paul Fouchécourt and the Opera Lafayette Orchestra also reprise highlights from their recent Rameau recording on Naxos (September 2007 release), including scenes from Platée. Opera Lafayette's Zélindor will be a world premiere recording for Naxos."

On October 4th, a pre-performance talk with Ryan Brown and Catherine Turocy begins at 6:30pm at the Music Center at Strathmore, and is free to Opera Lafayette patrons.

A special Strathmore Debut meet-the-artist reception follows the October 4th performance in the Comcast Lounge ($100 tickets are available only from Opera Lafayette - purchase online at http://www.operalafayette.org/programs.html).

Now, granted, the chorus has a VERY small role in this short opera, but we still reap benefits that are passed along to you, loyal list subscribers who have read this far.  I have one comp ticket available for the Strathmore performance tomorrow, and one, possibly two, tickets for the NYC performance - if you're interested, send an e-mail (but hurry!) to mbun...@altodiva.com .

Musically yours,
Marjorie Bunday
