Subject: 3 post-doc positions in computational linguistics and machine learning
at Macquarie University

Colleagues,

We're recruiting *3 post-doctoral researchers* to work on statistical
modelling, computational linguistics and machine learning here at
*Macquarie University* in *Sydney, Australia*. We're looking for
strong candidates with expertise in statistical models and machine
learning interested in applying their expertise to understanding human
language comprehension, acquisition and instantiation in the brain.
Please forward this to suitable candidates and encourage them to
apply!

*Applications close on the 1st May 2011*.

One position is for *computational models of language acquisition*
(especially non-parametric Bayesian models) and will involve
developing new models of language acquisition and applying them to
child language development data. It will involve working with
language acquisition researchers as well as computational linguists
and machine learning experts.

The second position is for *computational models of incremental
syntactic processing*, especially on-line processing of both text and
speech. This candidate should have a good background in statistical
parsing and/or language modelling.

The third position is in *machine learning and computational
neurolinguistics*. This candidate will apply statistical modelling
and machine learning to neural imaging data obtained from our
on-campus MEG and fMRI facilities. The candidate will work closely
with neuroscientists as well as machine learning experts.

These positions are funded by the Australian Research Council and
Macquarie University.

To find out more see the Macquarie University jobs web site
<https://mq.taleo.net/careersection/mqcareers/jobsearch.ftl?lang=en> .
Candidates for the first two positions should apply for job *0166J*,
while candidates for the third position should apply for job *0166P*.

Thanks!

Mark Johnson
