Before I get started on this week’s message, please help me move my
song up the protest song charts. Here’s how. Either go
http://hunkasaurus.com and click on the header or go directly to
http://www.neilyoung.com/lwwtoday/lwwsongspage.html and click on my song #129 out of 2600. Play it anytime you are on the
computer. More clicks the faster it can move up the charts! - Thanks.
KERA, the Dallas PBS channel, has taken a step for the better with its
KERA Arts and Culture Blog. It has the potential of opening up arts
discussion to those of us who have had little voice in the past. Time
to speak up. They say in the intro, The goal is to help artistic
endeavors reach new audiences and touch lives…” The project was made
possible through the help of Donna Wilhelm. Reach the blog at
http://www.kera.org/blogs/culture/ What I like about this blog is that
it has a wide range that covers all the arts, it is fairly
sophisticated and clever, and it seems more engaging than say the
Daily News site (too conservative) or the Dallas Observer site (too
hip to be hip!) Also it is easy to add your comments, and after the
first post, they are added immediately. That is where my readers come
in. The blog is busy with new posts daily, but there aren’t any
responses except my own! I KNOW my readers and I know that you are a
thoughtful and opinionated bunch with a wealth of knowledge about the
arts -every aspect of them. I KNOW that you have comments on the
topics discussed. So I encourage all of my readers to voice their
comments and bring your opinions to the Dallas public. We need to
raise the bar on arts and arts coverage in this town. Here is a good
forum to do that. See what you think. Read what interests you and most
importantly, add your thoughts to enrich Dallas with your voice.
