I have always thought of the Sophist as being more cunning than wise.
They used to speak half truths so as to not contradict themselves
later. This of course is what has become Zen.
The Taoist seeks words and actions that have no opposites. This is the
context of Tao. Zenists look for words and actions that can be viewed
two ways. It really is that simple but again, these are supposed to be
ancient traditions thousands of years old but it is really nothing
more than the same old game of "who goes first".
These fools would start by making nonsensical madness and bring it
down to a fine point enlightening all those who are listening. The
crazy part is the bait. They do not specifiy the Way in the Eightfold
Path. Just as the Four Noble Truths, they try to capture the sense
without having any. Putting the wind in a jar.
Right understanding. Seeing the world as it really is. It is wise but
it is also foolishness as well. Seeing is a matter of perceiving and
perceiving mind. Zen moments are individual and can not be explained.
It is like seeing something spontaneous and very Zen but the only way
you can tell someone is to.. welll... tell them.
Since the quintessence surfaced, flashed and disolved it is like
showing you the same piece of river twice. This is the obsession that
must be resisted. Not the witness, the explaination.

.... Is now just as frustrating as seeing Santa sliegh or Rudolf's
nose in the sky. A flash of the elf's wink.... because it is important
that I believe... get that? How will you know? And in time it is
becasue it is important I believe and you desire proof of my belief
that I sound like an idiot becasue it is suppose to be a joke. The
penalty for not believing is coal.
It is like the colour red. When I say red your mind is remembering. It
can not see red inside the mind and thus the mind looks outside to
remind itself red. Although now you see red, it was always there. It
is because the mind is focused on red that it can find red everywhere
but when it is not thinking red, it does not necessarily see red.
Why is this important? liaM it is immensly important! It suggests that
when you are not thinking about the colour of objects they exist in
black and white or grey. Yet how can you separate them? Thus, Tao. Zen
is about separating them.
There is the fruit of Zen and the seed of Zen. The fruit of Zen is
when a Master of Zen plants a seed that divides into two
complimenatray but magnetically resisting forces. This struggle for
Oneness, is not a struggle for dominance.
Next step Zen is a Zen Master who takes the white position and a Zen
Master who takes black position. Then the Taoist, puts his hands
behind his back and says: "Pick one."

Perfect wisdom is a sophistry, as I am, me, myself, and I. A short

the noblest chinese "see" zen. Zen is not ch'an. Zen koans
are crutches for criminals like Dogen who are not rooted in the
Middle Kingdom and do not respect the 10,000 life forms.
