I heard from the people who want to show my paintings next. Their coffee
shop is done and they want me to hang the pieces next week. This is really
nice. I wish I would have had a little more notice so I could have sent out
announcements. Oh well, ain't gonna look a gifthorse in the mouth. We go
to see the place tomorrow and I'll probably hang the work next week. It's
a big place and it should pretty well empty our house of the stuff we have
up. Guess it's time to chain myself to the easel again. Worked most of the
day yesterday and have a good start on a nice abstract. Maybe I'll have it
done in time. That's the great thing about acrylics. A couple days and the
paintings are dry enough to hang. Oil can take 6+ months to dry and cure
completely.

I hear an easel calling me in the the distance....

Oops! That's the wind blowing the snow around.

I love the fact that you are as motivated with your painting as I am with my
guitar.

Now, I don't really know how it is with art but with music you have the
option to play it as the artist had originally played it or you can change
to suit your own needs. Likewise art.

I am not talking about dong an exact copy of a piece of art for that is
forgery and to take a exquisite piece of art and change it would be a
disgrace.

I have been to your website and looked at what you have done and I like
it...especially the abstracts.

This may sound stupid but I have had this thought in my head for a long
time. Nobody here hasn't seen the picture of "Dogs playing pool". I just
wonder what it would be like of you took this picture and did a complete
abstract on it.

Just a thought.

I wrote a poem with a reference to "Dog Poker" in it once. We have an old
print of it hanging in the basement. I'm not kidding when I say we have
artwork everwhere in this house. There isn't one single wall without some
piece of artwork on it somewhere. Sweeheart even has some mounted in his
closet. Between my paintings, what we get from friends and what we collect
there's not going to be room for us anymore!

That's a fun idea for a painting. Hmmmmmmm....

It enhances the atmosphere. Da Vinci was great at that sort of thing.

Open a gallery. You should come visit Hot Springs for a week sometime,
C. We have a Gallery Walk and a Pot's Loft, a Documentary Film
Festival, a Community Theater ...... just a lot for the artistic
community.
