Hi all, I want to check / test a website against different variables:different browsers IE, FF, Opera, Safari etc. and different screen resolutions - is there an online tool I could use or download to emulate what I would see depending on the browser / resolution? Thanks, Andy ;-)

Unix filetimes strange touch results
It would take too much to explain what got me looking at this, so I'll just report what I've discovered. If I touch a file on my Linux host with a date (and time) before 2009/05/10, no matter what I set the time as, when I look at the file time using any FTP client (Filezilla, WSFTP, and Leech), the file time... more »

Adobe Flex V AJAX
I'm starting to work with partial page updates and I'm looking at both Adobe Flex and AJAX. Any comments or advice on which of them is generally better? The general impression I am getting is that Flex is easier than AJAX and has additional possibilities but the downside is that you are tying yourself... more »

Favicons
Hi all, I am looking to create a favicon for a site. I think a lot has changed with these since I last looked at them. What size can the file be? Will 16 X 16, 32 X 32 or 64 X 64 pixels work? Also, does the file have to be .ico or can gif and png work for all browsers nowadays? Finally, if I want it animated what is the best approach - use an... more »

Domain name rights - celebrity
Hi, I have a domain registered in the name of a celebrity. I have no 'official' relationship with the celebrity or their representatives. - It is a .co.uk (registered April 2006) - It is clear it is an unofficial site - It promotes the celebrity in a positive way. - It has no adverts - It has some affiliate links... more »

Coffee Cup Flash Form Builder sending emails as "nobody"
I have a hosting client that's using Coffee Cup Flash Form Builder to create forms. I have no experience with this program, though, and there's a (seemingly) minor problem that I don't know how to advise them to correct. The form is set to send an auto-reply. But when it does, it goes through the server as "nobody", which is obviously restricted.... more »

wysiwyg note editor for web page
I'm hoping shortly to start a project where I will need to include some form of simple wysiwyg editor on a webpage - to allow users to edit simple text, add links, images and possibly create tables. Much in the same way as many CMS systems allow. I'm probably googling on the wrong terms, but the only thing I've found that... more »
