Your post demonstrates one of the most unfortunate problems in today's 
world: those who could provide something are only willing to provide 
what the masses already want, thus allowing ignorance to lead.  The 
reason is clear: financial pressure.  People are only willing to provide 
what they are certain they can sell.  It puts a definite damper on 
innovation.  Also on the potential rewards of innovation.
