Subject: Shane Stevens
Does anyone know what happened to Shane Stevens?  He is the author of DEAD
CITY, WAY UPTOWN IN ANOTHER WORLD and (arguably, the seminal modern
serial-killer tale) BY REASON OF INSANITY.  He also wrote the JW Rider
series.  I'm pretty sure both names are pseudonyms.  Any update on his life
and/or work would be most appreciated.

Best,

Richard

John Legg wrote a book titled Collecting Shane Stevens a.k.a. J.W.
Rider for Black Diamond Press.  I believe it may be out of print but
if you write Black Diamond you may be able to get a copy.  I have
been looking for info about Stevens & aside from the Legg book
(which I have not yet purchased) have found nothing.  The hardcover
of Dead City does have a picture of Stevens on the back cover,
which is the only picture I've ever seen of the man.

"All people are insane," he said.  "They will do anything at
any time and God help anybody who looks for reasons."
