Does your system have IE 5.01 or 5.5?
Win-98se comes built-in with IE 5.01 - unless you do a bone-head thing
and remove it (ie win-98 lite).
My default pdf reader is adobe acrobat 6.0.2 (I believe there are

I told you that Windoze 8 was a flop when MacroShaft fired the guy
responsible for it last year.
I'm still seeing people downloading several versions of Win-98 on bit
torrent. I was even seeding a few of them this past weekend.

A program on my XP computer was bitching about upgrading DirectX. I
went to the Microsoft site and found the newest was ver 9c. Actually I
thought there was a ver 10, but it was not on there. They did have a
ver 11, but that appears to be a beta and only for Windows7 and maybe 8.

I have Win98 as my main boot and Win2000 as my secondary OS installed
(dual boot). I'm finding myself having to use Win2000 more often lately
because certain things, especially browsers, will no longer work in
Win98. I'm trying to avoid having to install XP, and Win2000 seems to

What is the last version of Adobe Shockwave Flash that can be used with
Win98se with the latest version of Kernal-EX?
I'm running Firefox 8, and have Shockwave 10.xxxx installed, and
constantly got messages to update it. I finally disabled it entirely.

First I have to ask why you're using FF 8 - or point out to you that
bookmarks and the recent-history drop-down bar don't work on FF8 with
win-98/KernelEx. I believe that they do work in FF7.

I have never used them, and dont plan to. Every keyuboard that has them
annoys me. because I'm always bumping them. I just remove them on a new
keyboard, but that makes an ugly keyboard.

I keep running into dead ends here. I have a modern i7 machine with
Windows XP and Microsoft's GS Wavetable SW for MIDI which sounds
different than the one I remember in Win95/98 when I used Voyetra

With the html 5, I'm constantly getting script errors in the browsers I
have been using, namely K-Meleon, Netscape, and Seamonkey. I quit using
IE years ago, and know that IE6 is the last version for 98. (which was
always crap). I found a browser called Flock, and found out it wont run
in Win98, nor will Chrome. The only one that still works halfway well,... more »
