Recently installed 4.3GB hard drive with three partitions and kept my old
drive in to copy files over from. New drive is C: E: and F: the old drive
is D: and CD-ROM G: After copying the data I wanted onto the new drives I
removed the old drive ( D: ) from BIOS and disconnected the cables. System
boots up OK but any programs that look for drive information such as my
virus checker hang up, also Windows Explorer reports C: correctly, what was
E: has correctly moved to D: and F: has moved to E: correctly. However it
now reports an additional CD-ROM drive, so I appear to have two CD-ROMs at
F: and G: Clicking on the phantom one causes Explorer to hang up.
