didn't have the WAV (and MP3) option listed in the list of
formats available for ripping. (It only had 3 versions of
the WMA format available in the list of available formats.)
I also have a few XP computers where the WAV ripping
format option is available, but since I usually have various
extra codecs installed, I assumed that perhaps the WAV
ripping format option is not available by default.
Now that I know that it should be available by default,
that more or less solves the problem as it concerns the
computer of someone else who might use windows XP and I
thought that perhaps on an XP computer the WAV option
in WMP11 was not always available. But now I know I
can assume that this option should be available on an
XP computer, unless there is an exceptional situation
where there is some kind of problem with the computer
that causes this option to disappear from the WMP11
ripping format options.
