To introduce myself first before presenting views seems appropriate. A 61
year old man, I work in technology and and am a big reader of most all genre
including SciFi and fantasy (obviously). I have only read WofT this year.
Oh, I read Eye years ago but never followed up( or was even aware of) the
series.But I,ve read it all now, most of at least twice and have many of the
usual complaints with it.
What I would like to say in this post is that IMHO the author achieved a
shining moment with the chapter The Golden Crane. The second half leaves me
deeply emotional EVERY time I read it.

be prepared for BIG disappointments if you keep reading the books -
the quality of the writing is inversely related to the number of the
book, that is, the later the book number, the worse the writing. If
book # 1 rated a 10, well then, book # 10 rated about a 1!! The series
was up to 11 (I think) when Jordan died with the story UNFINISHED!!!
The series became immensely disappointing to millions of fans, a very
sad story indeed. So I recommend that you quit while you're ahead
