I think you are right BIG C. If someone or the teacher in that class
room would have had a gun, there might have been some deaths but not
the carnage we saw there.
That is the problem, when only the crooks and crazys have guns things
like this happen......
Sharon
Nonsense.
The students had the resources at hand to stop him. No one thought to use
any of them. What we need is to train students, and everyone, to defend
themselves with whatever is around.
Do you know what damage a dozen textbooks hitting someone in the head would
do? Not to mention bookbags? Chairs?
We should be training citizens in self-defense.
that is the most stupid thing i have ever heard...i carry a 9mm semi
auto....you wanna try to disarm me with book sometime?!!geez!!!
So, that 9 mm will stop a dozen textbooks hitting you in the head at about
the same time? Not.
You're the dumbest thing I've ever heard. You been watching too many rambo
movies? Someone is going to take that 9 mm from you and shoot you with it.
If you actually have a 9 mm. Now, I have my doubts.
you didn't answer my question...do you wanna try to disarm me with a
book sometime?...
My initial post to this thread IS the answer to your question.
You responded to it with the question to the answer.
hey physicist...you know it is good that we can have different
opinions...i can see your reasoning...i would hope that if i had been
that classroom i would have at least tried to stop the shooter with
anything i could get my hands on...i respect your opinion...all i am
asking is that you respect mine........big c extending his hand for a
handshake....by they way...i really have a 9mm pistol and 2 .32
pistols and a 12 gauge shotgun with a 18 inch barrel length...that is
the best home defence weapon!!
Sadly, a few tried to stop the shooter on their own. Had there been some
collective effort, he could have been stopped. Some would still have been
shot, but they were shot anyway.
There was little anyone could have done for the first two students who were
shot in the dorm. But, I think, the first class he entered had 30
students. Had they been told how to react, he probably could have been
stopped there.
People (college students in this case) just need to be told how to react.
There will always be the odd hopeless scenario, no matter what defense
someone has.
Remember all those video clips of middle-easterners throwing stones in
reaction to a shooter? It looks funny to us, but they've learned how to
respond collectively and it works.
