A wedding we attended last summer had light sky blue dresses and the bride
chose deep pink roses with accents of deep blue delphinium or larkspur and
something white for her bridesmaids, with green magnolia leaves, I think, for
filler. The altar and tables and huge vine wreaths hung on the reception walls
had huge deep pink peonies with the dark blue and white accents and green
leaves. It was really beautiful. (She carried creamy white roses with glossy
green leaves.)

Pale blue goes well with pretty nearly every other color that's ever been
invented, so the real question is what combination pleases you, what mood you
want to evoke, and what colors will be relatively easy to find.
Start with your favorite colors: Is everything in your closet different shades
of pastels? Or is it varying shades of blue? Or do you tend to like brights?
You see what I mean.
Then think about what flowers will be in season in your area -- and thus easier
to obtain and less expensive -- at the time of your wedding (any florist can
help you figure this out), and what style of arrangements you like. Do you
like big bunches of wildflowers, or carefully spare arrangements of tropical
flowers? Lush garden style hand-tied bouquets or little Victorian posies? Do
you have a favorite flower or flowers? (Roses come in a vast variety of
colors; if you want tulips you still have some choice but not as much; if you
really love wood violets you pretty much need to work with purples.)
I happen to be a big fan of blue/purple and yellow floral combinations, and DH
and I both really like blue irises. I also like freesia. Our wedding flowers
were irises with blue delphinium, white and yellow freesia and yellow roses.
(The wedding colors were actually blue and green, and the white and bright
yellow made a nice accent.)
Pale blue with fuschia or bright orange will look vibrant and dramatic, but
perhaps you'd prefer something more traditional. Pale blue with pale pink and
pale yellow will be soft and pretty but perhaps a bit babyish, while pale blue
with pale peach will be soft and romantic but more adult. Pale blue with
silver and white will be elegant, but perhaps a little cold. Pale blue with a
medium yellow is cheerful, but maybe you want something more formal. Go
monochromatic with bouquets in all shades of blue and purple for a pretty but
modern look, unless you think that's boring.
You see how personal this is? One thing you might try if you are still really
directionless is to go to a large craft supply store and play with their silk
flowers and ribbons. Find a print ribbon or fabric you like that includes your
shade of blue. What are the other colors in the print? Pull out a bloom or
two of different silk roses and hold them up against a bolt of fabric or a
piece of art paper in the right shade of blue. Sometimes you just have to be
able to SEE the combinations in order to choose. And who knows, you might end
up finding the perfect ribbon to tie your bouquet. :-)
