I have a bit of a dilemma: the baker I am working with has very few
pictures of wedding cakes. I don't want anything elaborate... three
tiers, with a single garland of flowers cascading down the side of the
cake. I tried to explain to them what I want but they just told me to
bring in a picture.

The wedding is in three weeks and I have not been able to find any
source of pictures! I don't want to buy an expensive cake decorating
book, and the few magazines I've scanned don't have much in the way of
pictures of cakes. I had just assumed I'd be able to pick one of the
pictures the bakery had! I'mactually pretty surprised, because every
vendor up here in MA and a few of the bakeries I visited on Long Island
had 5ons of pictures. The place I chose (on a friend's recommendation)
had % pictures. That's it.

I do have a scanner and a color printer, so if anyone has suggestions
of web pages with cakes (I looked this weekend and couldn't find any)
or books or magazines that aren't too expensive, I'd appreciate it!

I have found a few sites with cake pics on them. The absolute best
one that I found is: http://www.ccginc.com/jeneva/index.htm Jeneva
has lots of pics of stunning cakes on her site. She was even kind
enough to let me use on of her pics on my site. We chose the cake
pictured on our site as the design for ours. Check it out:

Also, another good site for cake pics is: http://www.weddingcake.com

Hope this helps anyone who's looking,

Can't help you with a web site, but most libraries have good cookbook
sections and many carry bridal mags in the periodical section. You
browse through, copy what you like, and save lots of $$

Good luck!

You may be able to find books at your local library that would have
pictures of wedding cakes. Try the wedding books and the books on
cake decorating (or magazines on the same topics).

http://www.weddingcake.com/index.html has quite a few pictures, both
of cakes and of cake toppers (click on the "wedding cakes" and then on
"wedding cake album" for the cakes). Within the same site, there's a
listing of Wilton books-- the bridal cakes book and the wedding cake
album both have pictures of cakes, I believe.
