I actually started this newsgroup many years ago (probably close to 10),
and for some reason it never really took off. We had a few good
discussions going many moons ago, but that was short-lived.
I remember having to fight with some news providers back then to legitimize
the group and get them to allow it to propogate. It seemed that once the
legitimacy was confirmed, everything pretty much stopped (except the SPAM).
I would love to see it going again, but I fear these days even less people
use Usenet for purposes such as this, and more for binary applications.
Incidentally, I am a licensed operator in NJ. I have my S-4, C-4, T-2 and
W-2 licenses (in NJ the level 4 is the highest).
Anyone else?
Eric
I've been lurking here for several months.
I'm with a consultant, where my discipline is control systems and
instrumentation, primarily within wastewater facilities.
I hope to apply any process knowledge I can pick up here in my job.

I've been in and out of the NG for a couple of years now - and yea, it
is a little sad that such an easy venue for such wide spread coverage
never really took off.
I'm a California Grade V - been at the same plant for 25 years.

For those who fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected will never know.
