SYRIA INTERVENTION?
(This is not a copyrighted article, you may respond to
alt.war.vietnam)
1. President Obama said if the butcher Assad used chemical weapons
against his rebels that would be analogous to "crossing the line"
"knocking the chip off of America's shoulder" "spitting over America's
line" - etc . . . (I know, I know it sounds like someone out of the
third grade making these threats, but we elected him didn't we?)
2. Now that President Obama has determined (he couldn't hide it
anymore) that Butcher Assad has indeed used chemical weapons to kill
about 150 opposition forces (90% of them civilians) - and while
ignoring the 99,850 Assad and Iran have butchered with conventional
weapons (makes you believe our fearless leader was waiting for some
political reason to intervene - chemical weapons use provides
President Obama the politics to intervene - but 99,850 murdered with
old-fashioned weapons doesn't???? Go Figure.)
3. Regardless, President Obama had already sent in a few Special
Operations personnel to try and take control of the remaining chemical
weapons in Syria. No one is supposed to know about this but everyone
apparently does.
4. Now President Obama has decided he is going to step up his
intervention in this civil war and provide small arms to the rebels
in Syria. Hmmm. I how a M-16 rifle is going to defend against
chemical weapons? No matter, this latest edict from President Obama
is about as half-baked as other Dimocrat attempts at other wars; such
as pulling out of Iraq and allowing the President of Iraq to align his
forces with Iran, (all those Americans wasted just to make our enemy
stronger) and of course doubling the surge in Afghanistan without
telling anyone, and the coup de grace of coup de grace's - telling the
enemy the date our troops are running out of Afghanistan (that would
be treason in any other war).
5. Regardless of the above, I disagree with any American intervention
in Syria. The goons are killing each other and why should we
interfere with their fun? We know the killing will never stop. It
has been going on in Muslim land for 1500 years, and all the BS, hot
air, howls, barks and other similar political lies, half truths and "I
know nothing" lies by omission from our present administration will
not change water into wine - regardless of how many malfunctioning
M-16 rifles we sell the pathetic fools fighting Assad.
6. Now that Iran and Hezzbollah have joined forces with the Assad the
Butcher, and our present leadership trembles in their golf shorts
anytime anyone even mentions "Iran" - the writing is on the wall for
all to see - Butcher Assad is going to win.
Better we sit this one out. Give our troops a break. No more
meaningless wars that we never intend to win. No more politically
correct wars that do nothing but get our young men and women killed or
maimed. Let those that want to fight and die fight and die without
America. Once the smoke has cleared then we can make deals with the
victors - as usual - provided of course we have enough money left to
bribe them - which at the present rate of spending will be very
unlikely.
Or, perhaps we could send some nukes to the opposition and to Assad
simultaneously with a Trojan horse in them that will make them explode
if they are not used in 30 days . . . hmmmmmm.
