THE BIG QUESTION IS -- Will Clinton Be Charged Under UCMJ For Adultery
Like ALL Of The Others that are part of the military???

This is a fair question since he is supposed to be the
Commander-In-Chief of ALL the Armed Forces, isn't he? From my military
days aren't the leaders supposed to lead by example, to show the younger
soldiers the right path to take and what sacrifices it takes to be a
good/great leader.

So that must mean that ALL of the other soldiers that have been
charged under UCMJ for adultery should be set free and have their
charges dropped, Right? After all they were only following the
Leadership EXAMPLE of their Commander-In-Chief.

I guess things are different when you are part of the so-called elite:

Because on one hand you have the lowly soldier/officer that
spends days if not years away from their families supporting their
country out of duty, honor and a belief in what they are doing. So in
that world they sacrifice the time with their families, live in the
knowledge that they could die at any given time while supporting some
operation or training in some far off land for days/weeks/months/years,
living off of the meager wages given to them by the Political leaders,
trying to lead by example for the younger soldiers/officers, but during
all of this if through this loneliness they make a mistake and turn to a
subordinate or if married to someone else, for comfort/close friendship
they ARE WRONG under UCMJ and are HUNG OUT TO DRY.

Yet on the other hand you have the Commander-In-Chief living in
a big White House, who gets paid more in wages/perks than the lowly
soldier/officer, see's his family everyday and takes them all over the
world, has all kinds of people waiting on him and yet he turns to God
only knows how many other women for comfort/close friendship and what
does he get under UCMJ, Nothing as of yet that I can see.

Seems like a DOUBLE Standard here. Look how fast McKinney and others
were relieved of their duties at the slightest hint of impropriety. So
I guess what I am saying is: That maybe Clinton should become a man and
turn over his duties as President and Commander-In-Chief to the VP until
he is cleared of all charges or sexual improprieties.

Well I already know the answer to that, Clinton's famous words are "I
DENY that ever occurred, I DID NOT inhale, I DID NOT leave the Country
to avoid the draft, I DID NOTHING wrong!" So the right thing that
should happen will not happen.

Well I guess I answered my own question, so it sure would be interesting
to hear what your all's take on this would be?

The answer is not really hard, No. The UCMJ does not cover any Civilians
including the President. He will be dealt with in a different manner i.e.
politics. The pressure for him to resign will be great from his own party and
he will have no choice but to comply.

Jim.
I don't believe Mr. Clinton can not be charged under the UCMJ, correct me if
I am wrong but they don't have the power to charge a "civilian". Even the
Commander-In-Chief.

His problem (criminally) is not the adultery but the getting of the nurse to
lie about the affair. This is a criminal charge. ie: obstruction, cohesion,
etc. It will never get to the court though as he will resign instead of
going to jail.

Say nite Willy

ONLY a commanding officer can convene a Court-martial for
violations of the UCMJ. So, even if W.J. Clinton were to
be considered subject to the UCMJ (which I doubt) there is
no one to call a court-martial.
